MTV has fluttered quite a few feathers apart from music. The cult music channel actually fast won over the audience with the television program- Rob and Big show. A television review went to the extent of suggesting that the show was among the best three shows ever in the history of television. Now this may have been a personal assessment but certainly adds a lot of salt to the credibility of the reality show. The review gave it 3 out of 5 stars, comparing it to the highly-ranked "Real World Sydney."
With the ever increasing popularity of the show, marketers started to force in merchandise related to it. Big black hats and Women apparels were released; needless to mention that they sold like hot cakes. Marketers are still busy counting the blessing.

Rob- 34 year old Rob was born in Kettering, Ohio. He has relocated to California and lives in Hollywood with Big and Meaty; his English bulldog. Professionally Rob is a skateboarder and has penchant towards the adrenalin raising facets of excitement.
He is officially endorsing a lot of products. Spy Optics, Red Bull energy drink, Silver trucks, Relfes Bearings are some of the products he has given his name to. He is also behind SafeSpot which is an urban renewal program that aims to utilize all the unused land which has been already donated. The agenda of the land use is to make skating grounds for the street skateboarders.
EA sports had launched a radical video game called "Skate". A character for the game was based on Rob.
Big- Christopher Boykin, known all over as "Big Black" shot to fame appearing alongside Rob Drydek for the show. He has assumed the name Big Black owing to his outrageous proportions of height and weight. He has been a member of the U.S Navy; quite a reverential designation to boot home. He has also rapped with other group members for "Chunky Boyz". Black received great adulation for his role in the film "The DC" released in 2003. The film essays Christopher's tirades in pushing off other security guards after being hired by Rob.
He is popular enough to give his name to an attire company. He also has a signature hat collection. Both are doing able business. Like Rob, a character aligned to his traits, figures in "Skate" as well.
Meaty- It was early days still for the show, in fact the first episode for the first season, when Rob decided to bring in an English bulldog home. Both of them thought that as he was fundamentally composed of meat, he could well be called Meaty.
Mini- Mini is a miniature horse bought specifically to soothe Meaty's isolation. The two form a great camaraderie, sometimes bordering on the obnoxious. Mini rides in the rear part of the SUV while on pleasure trips.
3 seasons have already been completed. Rumor mills are abuzz with information about the 4th season. Nothing conclusive has been suggested yet. If they never return Rob & Big is definitley one of the most entertaining mtv shows in history.
